Part of the Microsoft 4Afrika Initiative program, will offer university-level education, mentorship, training and employment opportunities to aspiring African youth.
 
In recognition of International Youth Day, University of the People today announced a collaboration with Microsoft’s 4Afrika Initiative, through which 1,000 promising African students will receive scholarships to University of the People (UoPeople). These scholarships, a part of Microsoft’s 4Afrika Scholarship program, will provide university-level education, mentorship, training and employment opportunities for aspiring African youth.

Almost half way through the competition, the JSE Liberty Investment Challenge announces its June winners. Registered schools continue to explore the fundamentals of investing through simulated trading of JSE listed shares. The latest winners to be announced are Tsholomnga High School taking first place in the Income portfolio, Maritzburg College in the Equity portfolio and Grey High School in the Speculator portfolio.

The South African Rugby Union (SARU) and the Eastern Cape government have joined forces to fly a delegation of top SARU officials along with senior Springbok players to Umthatha for a coaching symposium and clinic that is the first of its kind in the region.

The coaching symposium and clinic follows the announcement that the Eastern Cape government is investing in the development of the SA Women's Sevens team over the next three years in the build-up to the 2016 Olympics. During this time, the Eastern Cape government will make funding available for the team to undergo training and physical and mental conditioning at the Eastern Cape Academy of Sport where the team will live over the course of the next three years.
