The JSE is pleased to announce the winners of its Investment Challenge Public Game. The three winners were announced based on the turnover that they made during the three months game between September to December last year.

The JSE’s Investment Challenge Public Game, which is in its second year is open to all South Africans and tests participants trading skills through a simulated trading game where their performance is tracked.

The first prize went to Ross Malt, who traded a value of more than R 2 million, the second prize went to Chetan Gandhi, with a trade to value of a little over R 1,6 million and third prize went to Deon Van De Merwe for his trade of a just over R1,5 million.
 
The game aims to educating the public about investing on the JSE and the challenge provides the players with the tools that make it possible for them to test their knowledge at investing and trading, in a risk free game before they attempt investing with their own money on the exchange.
 
“As the JSE we are committed to educating the public about investing and an initiative such as the Investment Challenge is a platform that allows us to assist with this financial education. It is our ongoing goal to be accessible to all South Africans, who are interesting in investing ” says Mpho Ledwaba, Head of Marketing at the JSE.
 
The game successfully grew by 100% between 2003 and 2014, with 2000 people participating in 2014 compared to the 1000 who did in 2013.
 
The JSE Investment Challenge public game is set to commence again in 2015. Registrations for this year’s game will be announced via the JSE website and social media once they are open.
